Parenting Plan Proposal Service
Australian Mediation provides an affordable, confidential Parenting Proposal Preparation service for separated parents who want to develop a clear and practical parenting proposal. This can then be provided to the other party (either directly or through your solicitor), or to give clear instructions to your solicitor to save time and money.
This service involves meeting individually with one of our experienced Family Law Mediators to prepare a Parenting Plan Proposal. It is particularly useful where the other parent does not wish to attend mediation, or where you want to clarify your preferred parenting arrangements before taking the next legal steps.
Your proposal can then be provided to the other parent for review and may assist discussions about parenting arrangements, co-parenting responsibilities and future care arrangements for your children.
Important note: this service is different from our formal Parenting Mediation and Property Mediation services. Please speak with us if you would like to commence a formal mediation process.
Australian Mediation draws on years of experience assisting separated families to develop well-considered parenting agreements focused on the best interests of children. A parentingplan proposal may also help identify the terms you would like included in future parenting orders, if agreement cannot be reached outside court.
Do you also need to discuss property or financial matters with your ex-partner? Please click here for our Property Proposal Preparation service or our full Property Mediation service.
Our experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners (FDRPs) are accredited with the Australian Attorney-General’s Department and are authorised to provide dispute resolution services for separated families. They can provide information about the family law system, assess whether your matter is suitable for mediation, guide you through the process of developing your own parenting plan and can also issue s60I certificates when appropriate.
Important note: Australian Mediation services are guided by requirements of the Family Law Act 1975. However, we do not provide legal advice. Separated parties are encouraged to seek independent legal advice from a family law solicitor throughout the separation process. We can provide referral details for experienced family law solicitors in your local area upon request.
